Lesson Overview
This A1 ESL lesson explores the topic “Christmas Day”, helping students learn useful vocabulary, verbs, and phrases for talking about Christmas traditions, activities, food, presents, and family time.
Learners practise key Christmas vocabulary such as Christmas tree, Santa Claus, stocking, presents, reindeer, turkey, wreath, and snowman, as well as common Christmas verbs including watch, wrap, decorate, cook, play, and build. They develop their ability to talk about what they usually do on Christmas Day and describe their own Christmas traditions.
Through a variety of engaging activities, students practise the present simple, talk about daily routines and times, complete dialogues, read about other people's Christmas Days, express opinions, and discuss their favourite Christmas traditions.
