Lesson Overview
In this lesson, students explore the question: Can cities ever be perfect? They begin by discussing what makes a good city and the challenges of modern urban life.
Students then watch and analyse a video that presents ideas for designing a “perfect city,” including transport systems, housing, green energy, and city planning. They focus on key vocabulary and understand how different urban design choices aim to solve common city problems.
Finally, students apply their ideas through speaking and discussion tasks based on real-world case studies. They evaluate different solutions to urban problems, justify their opinions, and take part in debates about how cities could be improved in the future. Activity layout:
