Lesson Overview
In this lesson, students explore the question: Should you quit social media? They begin by discussing the benefits of social media and the reasons why some people decide to leave it behind.
Students then watch and analyse a video about people who have quit social media and explore the effects of online platforms on attention, mental health, relationships, and daily life. They learn key vocabulary related to social media habits, addiction, and online behaviour while discussing different perspectives on the role of technology in modern society.
Finally, students apply their ideas through speaking and debate activities. They evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of social media, discuss whether people or companies are responsible for unhealthy online habits, and share their opinions on whether quitting social media is a realistic or necessary choice
