Lesson Overview

This fun and engaging C1/C2 conversation class explores the topic of happiness, giving students plenty of opportunities to share opinions, debate ideas, make difficult choices, and talk about their own experiences.

Students discuss what really makes people happy through a range of entertaining conversation activities, from choosing five items to survive for a year to deciding who has the “best” life and making difficult happiness swaps. They also give advice to people facing real-life dilemmas, debate controversial ideas about happiness, and explore whether money, success, relationships, freedom and comfort actually lead to a better life.

The class also includes useful phrasal verbs and idioms connected to emotions, helping students expand their vocabulary while putting new language into practice through personal questions and discussion.
